Loy Hardcastle Franklin, TN Real Estate Agent Headshot

Loy Hardcastle

Get To Know Me

Loy has been in business in Franklin, Tennessee, since he was 11 years old. First, he sold newspapers outside of The Factory. Then, he played drums in a band at a nightclub in Franklin. It may seem shocking to hear that an 11-year-old could do that, but in those days, there were no rules about minors in such places! From the time Loy was very young, he also worked in his father's car dealership on the Main Street of Franklin, where Bink's is now, and later started his own business. His father instilled in him early on the value of hard work and the importance of being dependable. Loy is often referred to as the "Round-the-Clock Realtor" for good reason!

For the last 30 years, Loy has worked at Parks Realty, which is now Compass Real Estate. Loy consistently wins awards for top-selling agent, including the top 1.5% in the nation. To say Loy knows Franklin, Williamson County, and Middle Tennessee better than most people would be an understatement. Loy is sometimes referred to as The Downtown Franklin REALTOR® because of the high volume of commercial and residential real estate he has, most likely, sold more than once. Loy has a heart for historic properties and, in fact, lives in downtown Franklin in a house that is 133 years old.

Loy attended Williamson County Schools and graduated from Battleground Academy and Vanderbilt University. His extensive network gives him a distinct advantage in completing complex sales. Because of Loy's experience and connections, he is often asked by the courts to sell particularly difficult properties that require highly delicate communications with heirs who may have vastly different ideas about how to settle an estate. Both locals and newcomers trust Loy to provide the very best service and expertise. They call on him over and over again to help them buy, sell, or lease property anywhere in Middle Tennessee and beyond.

When he's not negotiating a sale, you might find Loy playing with his rock and roll band, "The Exotics," at a local restaurant, nightclub, or even The Franklin Theatre. His musical ability has allowed him to perform with some of the biggest names in the music industry, from country stars to rock legends such as The Allman Brothers Band, and in venues like the Nashville Municipal Auditorium, Neyland Stadium, Nashville Symphony/ TPAC, and the Sugar Bowl to name a few. Playing "Folsom Prison Blues" with Johnny Cash at the Tennessee State Penitentiary was truly a unique experience.

Loy says that, for him, music is a lot like working in Real Estate. Although there are basic concepts underlying both activities, much of what makes him successful at playing the drums and selling real estate has to do with experience and instinct. Every situation calls for a unique set of skills and professional judgement. Whether he is sitting down to play the drums or strategizing about the best course of action in real estate, Loy's results speak for themselves.

Some of Loy's many civic and professional accomplishments include serving as President of the Williamson County Chamber of Commerce, President of the Franklin Rotary Club, President of the Interstate Merchants Association, Board of Directors of Harpeth Academy (BGA Lower School), Member of Franklin Zoning Appeals Board, United Way of Williamson County Chairman of Fundraising, Alderman for the City of Franklin, Chairman of the Board of Trustees Franklin Historic Presbyterian Church.

WHAT MY CLIENTS SAY

The agent was efficient and willing to put his personal time into getting things done that needed to be done. The time it took to sell the house was longer than I would have liked; however, it was the current economy that was the likely cause.
